Alkyl propiolate couples with itself in the presence of catalytic DABCO under very mild conditions to provide a quantitative yield of E-hex-2-en-4-yne dioates. Hydrogenation of these enyne dioates using Lindlar catalyst provides the corresponding E,Z-diene dioate, a common structural motif found in an array of natural products.

An activator composition for accelerating hardening and achieving cure-through-volume of cyanoacrylate adhesives) comprising; (a) one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of :(i) pyrazine; or a pyrazine derivative; said pyrazine derivative being pyrazine substituted with at least one electron-releasing group; (ii) pyridine N oxides substituted with at least one electron-releasing group; or (iii) 2,6 pyridines being pyridines substituted in the 2- and 6-positions by substituents, at least one of the substituents being electron-releasing provided that both substituents are not

The present work demonstrates feasibility of an inkjettable, isotropically electrically conductive adhesive in the form of a silver loaded resin with a 2-step curing mechanism. In the first step, the adhesive is dispensed (jetted) and precured leaving a “dry” surface. The second step consists of assembly and final curing. The 2-step cure system is based on a Acrylate-Epoxy-Resin matrix with very low viscosity, i.e., 3 mPas of newtonian properties. Spheroidal silver particles of high purity and a compatible organic coating have been loaded at 70% by weight.

New organogelator, N,N′-bis(3,4,5-tridodecyloxy)benzoylurea (1), gelled organic liquid such as alcohol, hydrocabons, ethyl acetate, salad oil, terpenes, and essential and perfume oil at low concentration of gelator. The terpene and perfume gels show good release of the volatile components for a long time.

Imagine a smart solvent that can be switched reversibly from a liquid with one set of properties to another that has very different properties, upon command. Here we create such a system, in which a non-ionic liquid (an alcohol and an amine base) converts to an ionic liquid (a salt in liquid form) upon exposure to an atmosphere of carbon dioxide, and then reverts back to its non-ionic form when exposed to nitrogen or argon gas. Such switchable solvents should facilitate organic syntheses and separations by eliminating the need to remove and replace solvents after each reaction step.

The present invention relates to combinations of a building material and a bath fluid for methods for directly printing visual-aid models or elements, in particular, for the use in the office or at home. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the polymers obtained by the reaction of the building material and the bath fluid and to elements or models produced from the combinations according to the present invention. The use of the combinations according to the present invention in rapid prototyping methods enables the production of elements having varying mechanical properties.
